Fascinating journey among the limestone hills devoid of vegetation called mamelons, but that takes place on a track in clay accessible only in dry season. At the beginning of the dirt road to the castle of Leonina, on the right is a farmhouse near which you can park. In front of the house starts a dirt road that crosses the valley north of Leonina reaches the first limestone hills: continue turning right through the "mamelons" in a surreal atmosphere of a lunar type. After traveling a few hundred meters turn left to walk up to the top of the ridge from which you can see a wonderful view of Siena. Continue bearing right at the edge of an artificial lake that lies at the end of the valley. Shortly after you reach the dirt road and Leonina, keep to the right, you get the return path passing in front of beautiful houses and the castle. From here you face a long and steep descent that leads us to the point of departure.
